Emirates Airlines today announced its partnership with the Asian Rugby Confederation, becoming a major sponsor of the Asian Rugby Confederation, embodying its continued commitment to developing the sport of rugby and expanding its scope to new markets. The new multi-year partnership allows the carrier to enable the Asian Rugby Federation to invest in various rugby tournaments, sevens tournaments and the 15-player category, in addition to the Asian Rugby Championships, which are held with the participation of 36 countries.
The rugby team delegation left for Osaka, Japan, to participate in the Asian qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held next Saturday and Sunday, and the teams of Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, China, Singapore, Thailand and India are also competing.
The UAE men’s rugby team maintained third place on the continent for the second year in a row in the Asian Sevens Championship. The Japanese team ranked first, the Hong Kong team came in second place, and the UAE national team outperformed well-established teams such as the Chinese, Malaysian, South Korean, Singaporean and Philippine teams.
